The most beautiful beach of Zakynthos and one of the five or six most photographed beaches of all Greece. The beach is accessible only by sea, it gives you the idea of hugeness and perfection. There are a lot of boats leaving daily from Zakynthos port or you can book a tour from Argassi! It consists of millions of small pebbles with the blue shades of the sea as far as the eye can see, it results unique in its gender and the relict looks like if it was made by an artist.
Gerakas is considered one of the most attractive beaches of Zakynthos for its turquoise waters and unique unspoilt features. It is located 18 km south of the capital and it offers a shelter for the the endangered sea turtle Caretta-Caretta. The sandy beach of Gerakas is a much preferred for swimming and sunbathing.
The small island of Marathonisi lies in the bay of Laganas and is under the protected of the National Marine Park of Zakytnhos, being a place where the Caretta Caretta turtles swim and nest. The island is actually the shape of a turtle and you can reach it either by renting a small boat from Keri or Laganas or by going on an organized trip. There is a great chance to see turtles and even swim close to them.
It is one of the most hidden places and maybe for this reason more beautiful and wild of the entire island. Limnionas is not actually a beach but a rocky cove where people dive from the rocks into the crystal water. To get there you have to pass through the mountains village of Agios Leon.
Banana beach is one of the longest beaches in Zakynthos and has named both the magnitude and the morphology. Located in Vassilikos, is sandy with shallow, crystal and clear waters. It is also the most widely used beaches to tourists and locals. Along the beach is sufficient beach bar.
A real postcard beach, a “must” during a holiday. The coast road leading to the beach offers from the very first moment a breathtaking landscape. This wide beach consists of a mixture of sand and pebbles and the sea is so beautiful that it seems to be stolen from a Caribbean beach. On the way to Agios Nikolkaos, on the northern side of the island, Makris Gialos is a small beach with crystal water. As it is not much organized, Makris Gialos doesn't get very crowded.
This beach has beautiful crystalline waters and lush green surrounds that impress every visitor. It is definitely one of the finest examples of the island's natural beauty. Impressive rock formations emerge from the sea creating an exotic setting and charming scenery. The beach is dominated by a large hotel where several tourist facilities are found on the grassy area.
